PROGRAMA CULTURAL

CULTURAL PROGRAMME

Seixal has prepared a two day trip through Portuguese Culture, which include visits to some of the most outstanding places of our history.

In the Blue Coast Tourism Region (of which Seixal is a part of), we shall visit one of Portugal’s most beautiful spots, the Serra da Arrábida. Apart from the beautiful landscapes of this forest, it still cherishes us with a very pleasant Mediterranean microclimate. This gives it very pleasant beaches that make us dream with islands of the Mediterranean Sea.

This region, where we shall make a stop for lunch, gives us a quite diversified gastronomy, with fresh fish, that is fished for every night by the Setúbal fishermen.

The Évora Tourist Region, in the Alentejo, has a totally different landscape, as well as a culture and lifestyle that greatly contrast with the above.
Here we shall spend the night, in one of its most charming hotels (Hotel da Cartuxa) situated in Évora’s old urban centre, declared World Patrimony by UNESCO, in 1986.
We shall have time for a stroll about Ancient Évora, where we shall be able to see its architecture that gives us flashbacks of Portuguese History, travelling from the Roman Period to the Renaissance Period, centuries XVIII and XIX.
Our tour will end with a luncheon at the Esporão Estate, followed by a visit to their cellars. In the Esporão Estate wine, cheese and olive oil is produced by using some of the most advanced technologies. The quality of these products has largely contributed to Portugal’s, both national and international, prestige.
